Prom Night
On Friday, April 12, a group of Bishop Chatard High School students arrived with arms full of streamers, decorations and balloons. They went straight to work decorating Lanagan Hall for our annual Senior Prom. A photo booth was set up in the reception area to capture some great memories of the evening.
During the day, as our High School friends worked hard creating the Prom ambience, our Residents had their nails done, pressed their dresses and suits, and trimmed and coiffed their hair. All day long the excitement was building as we anticipated the union of youth and seniors mingling and sharing joy as one community. This excellent experience of Residents and students learning from each other and sharing memories and dreams is an event that both the Residents and the students look forward to each year.
Finally, the hour for the festivities arrived!
Residents, with broad smiles and palpable excitement, were escorted to the Senior Prom by their High School dates who seemed even more excited. Everyone was ready for the opportunity to enjoy the celebratory atmosphere!
The Jump for Joy Band started the rhythmic music as Bishop Chatard High School students, coupled with Residents, stepped magically into the spotlight and began to shine. Lanagan Hall was filled with non-stop dancing, conversation and laughter.
As all good things must come to an end. The night concluded by announcing the Senior Prom King and Queen and a final dance to “Goodnight Sweetheart”.
Our Residents commented, this was one of the finest nights they have had and one of the best Prom Nights they have ever attended.
