New Year’s Eve
It is funny how the New Year seems to sneak up on us every year, isn’t it? No matter how quickly the year passes by, we are always prepared to ring in the New Year!
Noisemakers, party hats, streamers, balloons, delicious food, plenty of love and hope for the future. Just add Residents and music and you have our New Year’s Eve Party recipe, Little Sister style.
Jeannine Hong and her talented live band played fun and uplifting music for us again this year which is a long-standing tradition. Fifteen volunteer families attended our party bringing a variety of family members. Parents with children and extensions of the family such as aunts and uncles came as groups to join in our fun. The children loved dancing with and for our Residents with their boundless energy.
The night was filled with joyful storytelling and recollection accented by bouts of laughter. We continued this way through the night as the music played and mouth-watering food selections, prepared by our kitchen, were enjoyed. John Hong, our long-standing bartender, kept the beverages moving.
As our balloons dropped, signaling the close of the outgoing year, the Sisters and guests got busy with pins and popped all the balloons to everyone’s delight!
Everyone enjoys being with family during the holidays. We enjoyed our family as we closed the calendar on 2019 in grateful reflection and opened the New Year 2020 filled with love and hope for the best year yet!
The Little Sisters of the Poor and Residents wish you all a blessed and beautiful New Year!
