St. Augustine Guild hosted the fabulous “Hats Off to Spring” Luncheon Style Show on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. Approximately 500 guests filled the 15,000 square foot ballroom with greetings and laughter – unless carefully studying scores of silent auction items. Items included everything from a basket of Hello Kitty treasures to delight a little girl to a week in an inviting Florida condo.
Styles were presented by Talbots, setting a bright yet comfortable tone in summer wear. All models were members of St. Augustine Guild and presented two sets of clothing along the long, long runway.
Co-chairs Mary Krall and JoAnne Spellman headed up the effort, but it took a village of enthusiastic, generous women to bring this magical event to fruition.
Why do they do it? To share in the loving work with the elderly provided by the Little Sisters of the Poor, in Indianapolis since 1873. Guild members use St. Jeanne Jugan as their inspiration. Jeanne humbly yet persistently collected for the needs of the French elderly she brought into her care. The St. Augustine Guild “collects” among like-minded, generous benefactors during this event.
Thank you to so many whose efforts have made this event a spiritual and financial successful.
