The big yellow school bus pulled up and 28 kids, ages 9 to 13, scrambled out and were quickly on their way to the chapel to join Residents and visitors in the Rosary. They gathered to present Mother Mary Vincent with a donation, and before we knew it they had decamped to the loading dock where the serious muscle work began.
Not only had that big yellow bus carried seventh grade teacher Mr. Richard Duncan and the students from St. Michael School’s Student Council, it was also crammed with enough canned goods to require this army of workers 15 minutes to unload and move everything to the kitchen door. Their timing could not have been better: our store of canned goods has been depleted throughout the winter months.
THANK YOU, St. Michael’s, for your donation, for hundreds of canned goods, for your prayers, and for your good spirits. It was delightful to see you again this year!
