Welcome, Our Lady of Fatima

  • June 13, 2017

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the appearance of our Lady of Fatima, Helen Collins, a friend of the home, arranged to have a beautiful statue available to our home on June 13 and for a time after that date. Helen and Sr. Celestine, lsp, displayed the statue in the chapel.

A small group of Guild members, volunteers, and Residents welcomed the statue with prayerful veneration shortly after the flowers had been arranged before it.

This statue, with crown and rosary, is privately owned. Helen shared that “The Fatima statue was blessed on June 13, 1993 at the Cova de Iria by His Excellency Don António Francisco Marques, Bishop of the Diocese of Santarém, Portugal, at the close of the main Solemn Celebrations of that year, at which His Excellency had presided.”

Thank you so much, Helen, for arranging this visitation for our Residents and friends, and for your devotion to the Little Sisters of the Poor.
