A vibrant blue sky was dotted with bright cumulus clouds as the 19th Annual Swing Fore Seniors tournament kicked off at noon. Having been rained out on July 14, the weather was perfect for this make-up date. Players warmed up by playing in the putting contest with host Jersey Johnny of radio 1070, FAN, and all joined in the Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem before an imposing ant-line of golf carts spread out to different starting points on the 27-hole Ironwood Golf Course in Fishers.
Three teams of hostesses swarmed over the course keeping players hydrated and snack-filled, as they also collected tips, all of which went to the Little Sisters. Thank you Colleen Kaelin and teams.
The Kaelin family has been committed to Swing Fore Seniors for many years, with Larry handling the chairmanship of the event, Colleen and the Kaelin daughters at registration, Mulligan sales, and then on those pervasive beverage carts. Once again, Nancy Molitor provided a wide variety of items for the silent auction, and Pat Sullivan emceed the live auction. Pat is well-known for his humor and spirit and he shared both following the delicious Ruth’s Chris catered dinner. Pat also provided us with his time and talent on the eve of the Sullivan Hardware Cole Slaw fest on Saturday September 30.
