Dauber delirium. Premiere prizes. Potent potato salad. Fun! The 23rd Annual Bingo Extravaganza was packed with fun and winners. Held at the K of C Hall on 71st near Keystone, people skipped through drizzle to arrive even before doors were opened. They knew they had assigned seats and didn’t need to rush, but sometimes excitement makes us do unusual things.
The Little Sisters of the Poor were there in force, frantically separating raffle tickets in time for the drawings, talking to the guests, and posing for pictures with enthusiastic Bingo players. The crowd was there too, about 490 people, sitting shoulder to shoulder over their bingo cards, boxed meals, snacks, and drinks. The crowd played and listened carefully to hear announcements with hopes of winning a spectacular gift basket. What did people say they liked? The prizes! The bingo! The food and snacks! The fun! The pirate and guy in the crab hat selling tickets by the yard! It was quite a night!
The Little Sisters thank the tireless committee and those who attended this outstanding event in support of our elderly poor Residents.
